Once you accept yourself as you are, you allow yourself to be happy. You don’t need to become anything or anyone else, just as a rose doesn’t need to become a lotus in order to be happy. A rose is already beautiful. You are wonderful just as you are.
Thich Nhat Hanh
Turning towards what you deeply love saves you.
Love is not a relationship. Love is a state of being; it has nothing to do with anybody else. One is not in love, one is love. And of course when one is love, one is in love—but that is an outcome, a by-product, that is not the source. The source is that one is love.
If you really want peace of mind and success in your endeavours, discard self-importance and your ego.
The power of love came into me, and I became fierce like a lion, then tender like the evening star.
Try to imagine that the universe is one infinite consciousness – like one infinite conscious entity but not in the human sense. A type of being that’s barely conceivable to us. Not part of a population, civilization or even a family – one infinite, ever changing and expanding consciousness.
Those of a negative orientation such as the extremely wealthy elite who hoard much wealth and resources, and exert power and control over many, would not promote oneness. They thrive on separateness so that we are selfish, feed our egos continuously, buy material goods in an attempt to find happiness, and are enslaved to an economic system that suffocates spiritual growth and in turn oneness. If every human came together with an understanding of oneness we would be rightly all equal in love and understanding.
When you hate, your ego is fulfilled. The ego can exist only if it hates, because in hating you feel superior, in hating you become separate. In hating you attain a certain identify. In love the ego has to disappear. In love you are no longer separate—love helps you to dissolve with others. It is a meeting and a merger.
Compassion is a priceless jewel. Care about others at all times. If you cannot help others, at least do no harm.
Why does one feel bored? One feels bored because one has been living in dead patterns given to you by others. Renounce those patterns, come out of those patterns! Start living on your own.
Desire commands us to run off and get what we want. Aversion insists that we must avoid the things we don’t like. Typically, when we don’t get what we want, we are disappointed, and when we get what we don’t want, we are distressed.
